General questions
Q: What is Icons-Land?
A: Icons-Land is an icon design studio that offers icons for you in two ways: Stock Icons and Custom Designed Icons. These icons could be used in software applications, mobile phone and handheld applications, websites, presentations, etc.
Q: Do you follow style guides?
A: For Windows Vista style icons we follow Windows Vista User Experience Guidelines. For Windows XP style icons we follow Microsoft Style Guide for XP Icons
Icon formats, sizes, colors
Q: What icon formats do you provide?
A: Stock Icons are provided in .PNG format; aditionally .ICO format is available on request. Vector icons are provided in .AI (Adobe Illustrator) format.
Q: What icon size do you provide?
A: Stock Icons are provided in sizes 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256.
Q: Why image in icon of size 16x16 differ a bit from image on icon of highest size?
A: Size 16x16 is very small size for modern icons and it is very hard to show the same image in this icon. That's why image for icon 16x16 is simplified. This allow end user still understand icon meaning though it is very small.
Q: What color schemas do your icons have?
A: Icons are provided in 32bit (TrueColor + Alpha channel).
Q: In Icon Set details you specify Icons Count and Variations. What is the difference?
A: Variations - number of different icons in the icon set, though many of them are similar. Icons Count - number of different artworks in icon set. For example: There are three icons: User, Add User, Delete User. Though these are different icons, they are produced from one icon User by adding Plus sign and Cross. In this case we consider that number of Variations are 3, but Icons Count is 1 (User). Many icons providers show only Variations (named as Count) and don't show Unique Icons Count. We show both numbers.
Custom Design Service
Q: Do you offer Custom Design Service?
A: Yes, we do. Please check our Custom Design page for more details.
Q: How much custom designed icon costs?
A: We don't have fixed price per custom designed icon. Every project is reviewed separately and price per icon is set up.
Q: What custom designed icon price depends on?
A: First of all it depends on what type of service you order: Extending Existing Stock Icons Set or Designing Exclusive Icons Set. Then it depends on number of requested icons, their style, sizes, formats, etc.
Q: Did you complete only these projects that are on Portfolio page?
A: No, on Portfolio page there are only few of our works.
Individual Icon Purchase
Q: Do you sell icons individually?
A: Yes.
Q: How can I purchase icons individually?
A: Please write a list of icons you need via our Contact form. We'll return back to you with instructions. Unfortunately we don't have automated process yet.
Q: How much does individual icon cost?
A: Price is $5 per icon in .PNG format, and $15 per icon in .AI format.
Q: Will I receive icon in all sizes when purchase individual icon?
A: Yes, you'll receive all sizes.
Legal Issues
Q: Where can I read license terms?
A: Please read license terms at License Agreements page.
Q: Can I use the purchased icons royalty-free in my commercial software product?
A: Yes, there are no additional royalty fees for commercial software products.
Q: How many of my products can I use your stock icons in?
A: You can use stock icons in an unlimited number of software applications and web sites.
Q: Do I have to purchase a license for each developer?
A: No, purchased icons may be used by any number of developers or designers of your company.
Q: Can I modify the purchased stock icons?
A: Yes, you can modify your purchased stock icons without permission for your needs.
Q: Can I distribute the stock icons I have modified?
A: NO, while you are free to modify stock icons, you cannot distribute them to another party separately from your product.
Payments
Q: What system do you use for getting payment?
A: We use eSellerate to get payment (http://store.esellerate.net/icons-land/store/) for Stock Icons. And we use Plimus to get payment for Custom Icons.
Q: What credit cards do you accept?
A: eSellerate provides transactions for all major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and JCB .
Q: Do you accept PayPal?
A: Yes, you'll have this option while placing order.
Q: What currencies do you accept?
A: Payments are accepted in US Dollar, Euro, Australian Dollar, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Danish Krone, Hong Kong Dollar, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Singapore Dollar, South African Rand, Sweden Krona, Swiss Franc.
